While we don’t recommend ignoring the cleanliness needs of your car during winter, we understand when people wait until spring to give it that first car wash of the year. Of course, winter stuck around a little too long this year, so many of you are just getting to your first full-service car wash since October!
But now it’s summer! It’s time to get that car washed and head out to have some fun in and around Loveland. So once your car is nice and shiny, where can you take it t?
Runza Car Show
Okay, we’re gonna start with this one because it’s only a few days away! On June 10 the Roadknights Car Club will be having a car show just a few blocks south of Speedy Sparkle at our local Runza. Here you’ll see some very interesting vehicles from the past, some of which are true to factory while others have been heavily modified. Some of the owners who get dusty on the way to Loveland stop by Speedy Sparkle for that final touch-up before the show. If you stop by before the show and you drive some vintage convertible, don’t be surprised if people think you’re part of the show!
Okay, so that full-service auto detail might have caused people to think you were part of a car show, but here’s one place that won’t happen…a bike show! Throttle Throwdown is all about motorcycles and is occurring June 8, 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, and 20 at Thunder Mountain Amphitheater. If you like motorcycles, this is a great way to spend an evening in Loveland.
Loveland Concert Band
Here’s a Loveland tradition that’s been going on for decades. Just a few miles west of our car wash the Loveland Concert Band plays in the North Lake Park Amphitheater (just north of Lake Loveland). While they play at Mountain View High School during the other three seasons of the year, summer concerts occur on most Tuesdays and start at 7:15. This year the concerts are played on June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27 and July 11. They also help to kick off the fireworks with a concert that starts at 8:00 on the 4th of July.
Foote Lagoon Summer Concert Series
If you don’t get your fill of music from the Loveland Concert Band, drive your newly-cleaned car to the concerts at the Foote Lagoon. The Foote Lagoon is the performance space at the municipal building and at the south end of the Loveland Public Library parking lot. During the day it’s a fountain, but by night it’s a “floating” performance platform. Weekly concerts start at 5:30 and feature a number of different styles of music, including Dixieland Jazz, Irish Folk, and Honky Tonk. Be sure to check them out on June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, and July 27.
Loveland Garden Tour and Art Show
Need something to drive to on a Saturday morning? On June 17th you’ll be able to attend the Loveland Garden Tour and Art show from 8:00 until 2:00. Take a tour of local gardens and put in some bids in on some art. And if you win the art, put it in the nice clean trunk you got during your full-service auto detail from Speedy Sparkle!
We love Loveland, and we’re certainly happy that people are so interested in bettering our community. Now get out there and enjoy our city!
